These are "Aunt Dana's Russian boots" from the 2007 Knitting Pattern-a-Day calendar. Most of what's in here didn't appeal to me, but these seemed like a cute new knitted slipper pattern.They were a fun knit. This pair is for charity, but I think I'll knit another pair for myself. I meant to mention this when talking about the berets, but lately I've been using the two-circulars method for hats, and I tried it on the slippers and like it there, too. I have tried it and dislike it for socks — they are so small that they go faster on dpns, for me. But I started these on dpns; quit when I was using six of 'em and still had trouble. Knitting on one 16" circular is not my thing, nor is Magic Loop unless I have to. Since I happen to have 2 pair of Inox US #6/4mm circs, this worked out great.

I like the slippers a lot! Any chance of getting a copy of the pattern? I tried making mary janes for a friend but I didn't warm up to the pattern all that much. I haven't tried all the magic loop/circular tricks. I like dpn's just fine. Time to knit for summer though. I've been looking at cotton yarn on Ebay. So far the perfect yarn hasn't shown itself.
I love the slippers. I think though, I would have made mine twice as big so that I could felt it.

Kelly's idea is good, too; they'd look cool felted.

BTW what's a magic loop? is it really magic? what does it do?
Cute slippers, Valerie! I'm with you about the 2007 calendar, though - not as many patterns I like in this one as there were last year. My 2006 has dozens of tape flags sticking up to remind me of patterns I want to do. 2007 - not near so many.
Those are awesome...next pair should be in orange and black (harley colors!)...I'd wear those!
